Chapter 296: System back in action!

Dealing with the last few escaping bandits, Huang Yongyu soon made his way back to the mountain cave that Chu Yang and Qing Yi had entered. Only to be met with the sight of a collapsed cave and an exhausted Chu Yang standing next to it.

"Where is Qing Yi?!"

Looking around and seeing that the other disciple from the Flying Sword Sect missing, Huang Yongyu started panicking as he very well knew that it would spell bad news for his River Sect if they came over to investigate...

After all, with everything said and done. Even if the surrounding sects were trying to kill of his River Sect, they had still used the disciples of the Flying Sword Sect to help themselves out from their schemes...!

"No need to worry so much, she is at the other side of the Red Flower Ridge... She was just exhausted after her fight, so she will be recovering before meeting up with us later!"

Seeing the anxious expression on Huang Yongyu's face, Chu Yang knew a bit about what must be going through his mind, as he reassured him.

Even if the River Sect had to some degree ended up using them in an attempt to circumvent the sects setting up just outside their gate, Chu Yang knew that they most likely had no choice...

After all, given their current circumstances, Chu Yang highly doubted that they would be able to send any of their own experts out to deal with the bandits without meeting an unfortunate accident along the way...

In a sense, the only reason why Huang Yongyu was safe at the current moment, was that he was together with him and Qing Yi...

"That's great..."

Letting out a sigh of relief after hearing that Qing Yi was safe, Huang Yongyu sat down a few meters away from Chu Yang and began recovering his qi. Even if he could easily deal with the Qi Condensation Realm bandits, it still drained his qi reserves to deal with so many of them without rest...

Time slowly passed and after recovering their qi and meeting up with Qing Yi, the group of three soon began heading towards the Pure Heart Lake where the Pure Heart Spirit Grass was located... And at the same time, the place where the sects against the River Sect were gathered together.

Not that it mattered to Qing Yi and Chu Yang, as there was no chance that they would dare to do anything to them. Fearful of what the Flying Sword Sect might do, they were after all well known for being overprotective of their disciples, be it Core Disciples or Outer Disciples...

...

A few days earlier when Chu Yang and Qing Yi had just made their way inside the territory of the River Sect, Xuan Hao spent almost an entire day together with Elder Song, as he learned about how to best go about teaching his disciples.

Elder Song himself, was more than happy to set aside some time to help out Xuan Hao and teach him how to train up his disciples, he was after all the one who had helped him finally breakthrough and reach the Nascent Soul Realm! Even if Xuan Hao asked him for more time, Elder Song would be willing to throw the work he had been doing onto some poor soul so as to make sure he would have enough time...

The poor soul in question being the Flying Sword Sect's newest Nascent Soul Realm Expert outside of Elder Song who had just broken through, Chi Hu...

After he had joined the Flying Sword Sect, Chi Hu had become good friends with Elder Song and in turn started working together with him to help manage the Flying Sword Sect.

Something Elder Song was more than happy about, as he started training him in how to properly manage the sect's resources.

In a sense, Chi Hu could almost be considered the successor of Elder Song, as he easily absorbed all the new information and happily took on the management work of the Flying Sword Sect.

Given that he had already spent a good part of his life adventuring about, Chi Hu very much liked the position that he had ended up in...

Xuan Hao also knew about this and felt happy for the old guy who was finally begging to fit in after joining the Flying Sword Sect.

To be honest, he had been a bit worried about him when he first joined, but his worry was for nothing, as Chi Hu got along well with Elder Song and the rest of the elders.

Though he had not yet interacted much with the disciples, but that could always wait.

The yearly entrance examination where a bunch of new disciples came to join the sect was a good opportunity for Chi Hu. At that point, he could even take in a disciple or two and become more well known by the disciples of the Flying Sword Sect...

"Hm... I will still have to train more to become a good teacher..."

Sitting down outside his pavilion with a cup of tea in front of him, Xuan Hao could not help but mutter this to himself as he watched the steam slowly drift up from his cup.

[Side Quest: Learn about new subjects to better teach your disciples.]

[New Knowledge about Professions: 0/100]

[New Knowledge about Movement and Combat Techniques: 0/100]

[New Knowledge about World History: 0/100]

[Time limit: Complete before your disciples return from their sect missions!]

[Reward: Cultivation Increase of one Minor Realm]

And just like that, a new quest had appeared.

"What is this...?"

Looking over the new quest, Xuan Hao was a bit confused as it was the first of its kind. Asking him to learn more about different subjects that would be useful to teach his disciples about in the future.

However, the thing that caught his attention the most, was the fact that the reward would be an increase to his cultivation realm!

Back at the Nascent Soul Realm, Xuan Hao had still felt that it was relatively easy to improve his cultivation realm even without the systems help. However, after reaching the Domain Lord Realm, Xuan Hao felt like his progress had suddenly come to grinding halt, as his cultivation no longer improved as quickly as he wanted it to.

He would have to slowly comprehend the laws of nature and incorporate them into his domain and strengthen it... A truly slow process, but there was nothing he could do about it.

Yet at this point, the system finally showed up...

Xuan Hao somewhat had a feeling that it had been waiting for him to reach a point where cultivation would be slow, thus increasing his drive to complete the missions and train up his disciple...
