Chapter 1071: Wait For Me...

The following day Ming Rusheng woke up and found himself sleeping on the sofa. He sat up with a terrible headache and called for the room service to get something for his headache.

His sight followed the file kept on the table and realized something. He picked up his cell phone and dialed the number while pressing his temples.

"Prepare for me to leave for France today and get the details in which hotel President Lu is currently staying."

He checked the time, and soon it would be office hours. Forgetting his headache, Ming Rusheng strode towards the bathroom to freshen up and ready for the office. He was in a hurry to go to the office as if he would miss something if he didn't.

When he returned to the living room after getting ready, the drink was ready as the attendant was busy cleaning the mess on the table and broken glass pieces on the floor.

"Sir, here is the drink."

"It's fine." Not getting it, Ming Rusheng hurried back out. On the way, the staff and the manager greeted him, but he didn't even look at anyone.

"Did something happen?" one of the staff members asked the manager.

"Not sure."

The car was ready for him, and he asked the driver to step out. The puzzled driver did what his boss asked him, and the next moment he witnessed the car leaving at full speed.

"Is there any emergency?" the driver mumbled and continued to look at the car till it disappeared from his sight.

Ming Rusheng reached the office where he ignored everyone who greeted him and straight went to his office floor where the assistant and the receptionists greeted him.

Ignoring it, Ming Rusheng asked, "Is Miss Lu in the office?"

"Yes," the assistant replied.

Ming Rusheng went to Lu Lian's office and opened the door without even knocking on it.

Lu Lian's assistant was busy arranging files. Seeing Ming Rusheng, she bowed only to hear the cold man, "Ms. Lu?"

"She is in the workshop," the assistant replied and went out of the office thinking if something had happened.

Ming Rusheng opened the workshop's door where he saw Lu Lian busy working on the blueprint. Seeing her, he felt relieved and all the anxiousness he felt disappeared as if he only wanted to see her.

She sat in front of her work table in the mildly lighted room to draw a blueprint as one light brightened up the glass top below the blueprint.

"Don't disturb me for some time unless it's something important," Lu Lian said, thinking that's her assistant.

Ming Rusheng smiled lightly, seeing how dedicated this woman was towards her work that she didn't even have time to see who entered the room.

Ming Rusheng stepped towards her, and Lu Lian stopped working, sensing it was not her assistant.

She looked at him, but till then, he reached her, making her flustered with his sudden appearance. What she realized the previous night about her feelings for Ming Rusheng made her nervous in his presence.

She was about to stand up to greet him, but he put a hand on her shoulder, to not let her do so.

"Continue working," he instructed and looked at the blueprint. "Which project is it?"

"The one Mr. Ming asked me to finish yesterday," Lu Lian replied.

Ming Rusheng cleared his throat awkwardly.

At that time, just to stop Lu Lian from leaving the office, Ming Rusheng picked up the random file with ongoing projects and handed it to her, not knowing which one it was. In the end, there was no use as Lu Lian left.

He didn't have a word to say, but looking at the blueprint, he knew what project it was.

He leaned down and took a closer look at the blueprint, but he intended to get closer to her. He put the hand on Lu Lian's hand, which held the ruler, and his other hand held her hand with a pencil.

She was trapped as both his hands surrounded her and he stood behind; his tall figure hovering over her and his face closer to her face as his cheek almost touched hers.

Lu Lian froze while Ming Rusheng started to draw the line that she was about to.

"I-I can do it..." she said in a low voice, realizing her heartbeats going on the higher side.

Ming Rusheng didn't stop as he continued to draw slowly and informed, "I'm leaving for France."

"Hmm," she didn't ask why as the sudden closeness messed up her mind.

"Wait for me. I'll be back soon," he added.

"Hmm." She nodded blankly, not giving a thought about why he talked like this suddenly.

Ming Rusheng turned his face to look at her, and she gulped, sensing his gaze so closely. She couldn't dare turn and look at him as their hands stopped working on the blueprint. Lu Lian felt his hands gripping the back of her palm, entangling their fingers.

Ming Rusheng pecked on her cheek slowly, and she closed her eyes, listening to her heartbeats at the back of her head and her ears, and felt like she turned deaf.

"Don't work too much and take care when I am away," he whispered, brushing his lips from her cheeks to her earlobe that gave her goosebumps.

She nodded slightly, not being able to even hmm to what he said.

Ming Rusheng let her go and stood back.

"See you." Saying he left and Lu Lian turned to see the retreating back of the man.

The moment he left and the door closed, she put hands on her chest exhaled out. "What was that?" she mumbled.

She could still feel the touch and warmth of his lips that went brushing along her cheek and ear. A shiver passed across her spine, and she buried her face in her palms.

"I'm going crazy," she mumbled frustratingly and stayed like that for a while to calm herself down.

Realizing something, she again looked at the closed door and thought, "Why is he going to France, and why did he ask me to wait for him?"

Getting up from the chair, Lu Lian ran to go outside and saw Ming Rusheng's assistant.

"Mr. Ming?" she asked.

"Boss left," the assistant replied, and Lu Lian strode towards the elevator.

"Ms. Lu, the boss, must have left in the car by now," he informed.

Lu Lian stopped and looked at the assistant, "You didn't go with Mr. Ming?"

"Mr. Ming wanted to go alone," the assistant replied.

It puzzled Lu Lian even more as it was clear he didn't go there for business, or his assistant would have followed him.

Lu Lian nodded and turned to go back to her office; the assistant called her again, "Ms. Lu, thank you for helping the previous night."

Lu Lian didn't reply and returned to her office quietly, regretting why she didn't ask Ming Rusheng anything when he said he was leaving.

'It must be something important as he had to inform me. He never did it before,' she thought.
