Chapter 583
Relics
In the swirl of dust, Eureka's little finger snapped and the dagger tied to his other leg was caught quickly into his hand . He grasped it, hammered it down, and stabbed it right through the giant walking dead's ear .
The giant walking dead shuddered and stopped moving right away .
Eureka exhaled and pulled out the dagger and the other dagger from its neck . He stroked the two daggers against each other on each side to get rid of the frosted blood before he put them back to the gaiters .
Seeing that the giant walking dead was killed, the three young men with gray hair stepped forward at once with a sigh of relief .
"You are mighty, general!"
"Really impressive, general . You just took out a giant walking dead without using a goblin!"
As the three complimented him, Dean took one look at the walking dead and said to Eureka, "Aren't you going to take the cold crystal out of his head?"
The three turned to look at him .
Eureka glanced at Dean and said, "Take it yourself . It is not useful for me . "
"Alright!" That was what Dean needed . He immediately pulled out his dagger and stabbed the walking dead along the wound caused by Eureka . He wanted to cut its skull first, but its skull was unusually hard, even harder than tungsten steel . He couldn't open a bit with his dagger .
He was surprised how hard the skull was . It would have been almost impossible for him to kill it .
Eureka shook his head because Dean spent a long time cutting the skull a bit, "it's impossible to cut it open with your dagger . " Then he pulled out the dagger from the gaiter and cut the skull which was separated into several pieces .
"Thank you . " "Said Dean while he was breaking open the skull . It came out white chill gas that froze his palms, especially his left arm . Stimulated by the chill gas, the coldness in the arm seemed to be activated and moved down his body .
He hurried to control his heartbeat with dragon blood technique .
Soon the activated chill was subdued . At the same time, the cold gas in the giant dead walking's skull gradually drifted away, revealing the brain which had been completely frozen like a dark red ice ball .
Dean frowned slightly and whittled it with his dagger .
Fortunately, the ice ball was not as hard as its skull . It was quickly cut open and an oval dark blue crystal showed .
He picked it up . The crystal were so cold that his fingers tingled with coldness .
He stared and saw a curvy creature like a worm inside the cold crystal .
"Come on . " Eureka said when Dean picked up the crystal .
Dean put the cold crystal in his arm and caught up .
Eureka walked slowly because he didn't seem to rush, looking around and scouting for dangers . After all, even pioneers could fail in the waste land . He had to be extra careful .
Half an hour later, Eureka sat down on a rock pile and said, "Take rest here . "
The three men stopped immediately . The blonde woman opened her backpack, took out a bottle of pure water and trotted over to Eureka, and handed it to him with both hands, "general, here you are . "
Eureka glanced at her and said, "no need . I have my own . " Then he opened his backpack and took out a bottled pure water .
The blonde withdrew her hand disappointedly, stepped back and went back to the other two . The three sat down on a pile of rocks nearby, taking out dry food and water to replenish their strength while keeping a watchful eye on everything .
Dean went straight over to Eureka and sat down in case of any danger .
After more than ten minutes of rest, Eureka still sat there and said to the three, "Let' s camp here tonight . You spray Walking Dead Powder around the area . "
They looked at each other in surprise but said nothing . After they bowed to answer yes, they prepared to camp and defense as he had ordered .
"It's still early . Shouldn't we keep going?" Dean wondered .
Eureka shrugged, "My mission is to get you out of trouble there, not to hunt monsters . We don't have to walk a lot . If I were worried about us being chased by Hathaway, I would have camped just next to the flag of the district . "
Dean was shocked first but after he understood what he said, he kept silent .
Time flew .
It had been three days they had stayed in the district two .
In these three days, led by Eureka, they wandered along the outer edge of the district two . They didn't get into the depth of the unexplored area to avoid running into monsters to the maximum extent . Despite this, they still bumped into several giant walking dead and weak sickle walking dead as well as a large number of ordinary walking dead which were killed by Eureka and the three guards .
Dean had never got into a fight . He was guarded closely by the others, which he was happy to do .
"I didn't expect so many high-level walking dead to live in the cleaned outer edge . " Eureka, frowning slightly, thrust out with his dagger and killed a sickle walking dead . He shook off the blood stains on the dagger and searched around .
The blonde said, "General, most of these high-level walking dead might come from deep areas . "
"You tell me?" Eureka snorted, looking up at the direction of the deep area in the distance . He frowned slightly and wondered if something in the deep area scared them away .
He started to get worried . "Go back," he said . "it's too deep here . "
The three look at each other . Too deep? If they fell back, they would be out of district two .
But they obediently agreed, followed Eureka and protected Dean in the middle .
Soon they had retreated four or five miles . Eureka stopped and said, "this is it . We camp here tonight . Go prepare for it . "
The three guards immediately started to circle the ground, set alarm bell, and spray walking dead powder .
Dean sat on the rock pile, scouting around in case monsters attacked them . Suddenly, he heard a faint draft of wind . When he tracked it down, it came out from the crack of the next stone pile .
Dean was surprised why wind came out of a stone pile? Was there a hole down there? Or did it come from a monster breathing?
"Alert!" Dean immediately said to Eureka, "Something is under this rock pile . "
Eureka, who was sitting on the rock pile resting, was startled slightly and looked at where Dean was pointing . He listened carefully and heard a faint sound of air flow . Holding the dagger in his hand, he moved quietly to the rock pile and removed the rock away .
A moment later, they saw a hole under the pile and it was pitch black in there .
He threw a few stones into it and heard the stones falling but nothing about monsters . The faint sound of air flow was still there .
He was relieved to know that it was not monster breath . It was ventilation below .
He removed the stones and walked inside . He didn't mind walking a few steps more . Besides, he was a little curious about where the wind came from .
Soon the pile was removed and it was a passage . He walked in .
Dean followed him .
The three guards who were setting alarm followed too in case they were in danger of staying outside .
The five followed the passage under the stone pile . Rubbles were here and there in the passage, which could easily hurt feet . In the depth of more than 50 meters, rubbles were rarely seen . It was a flat, manmade road ahead .
Dean looked up and narrowed his eyes .
At the end of the road, more than twenty meters away, there was a huge stone gate!
If it were not for the crack in the middle of the gate and the stone pattern on it, he might have thought it was a rock wall .
"Relics? !" Eureka gasped .
