Chapter 439: Heads
Zhong Yue let out a breath of relief, and Xin Huo flew up out of the lamp pith and returned to Zhong Yue's psyche ocean as Zhong Yue put the copper lamp away. He then said with a thumping heart, "Why are these gods still alive, they should have died long ago...."
"It's the Six Path Reincarnation!" replied Xin Huo.
Xin Huo then said seriously, "The Returning Ruins were formed after the Six Paths Reincarnation was destroyed, it probably carried some characteristics of the reincarnation, allowing them to retain some modicum of life even after death. They are all trapped inside the path of reincarnation, barred from entering the afterlife."
Zhong Yue, however, did not really understand. When he turned around, the golden ship was already gone from their vicinity.
"How are the Six Path Reincarnation allowing the gods to be immortal?"
Xin Huo, who did not understand much about the Six Path Reincarnation, then mumbled, "Incredible, someone had managed to create such as incredible Six Path Reincarnation. But who is that someone? Even the Sui Sovereigns during the Fire Order Era were never able to do something like this...."
On their way there, Zhong Yue and Qiu Jin'er saw many strange things that were ejected from the black hole. There were scattered landmasses, skulls that were as big as planets, and broken fragments of godly weapons. Other than that, they also saw the skeletons of some unknown creatures and tunnels created by twisted force.
The strangest of all was the tunnels; at the end of these tunnels were planets. One can only imagine how these tunnels connected to the planets.
"Seems like we will be able to reach these planets through the tunnels," said Qiu Jin'er softly.
However, some parts of the tunnels have already collapsed, and if they entered these tunnels recklessly, they would most probably be met by some form of immense danger.
The teleportation speed was so fast, making them particularly regretful when they simply zipped past precious treasures without being given a chance to retrieve them.
Suddenly, Zhong Yue saw a huge celestial launched out of the black hole. It was sitting cross-legged and floated aimlessly in the darkness. The giant sat there without moving an inch, but what was especially strange was the fact that this giant seemed unaffected by the curse that left every other god here with only their skeletons.
Even the Returning Ruins' black hole failed to disintegrate them and had to expel him.
In a blink of an eye, the giant disappeared from their sights as they were all teleported away, but Zhong Yue and Qiu Jin'er were still greatly shocked. Zhong Yue muttered, "Is he still alive? Even the black hole couldn't do anything to him...."
"No idea, they said the heavenly court of Kun Lun was shattered 100,000 years ago and that the Returning Ruins was formed right after its destruction. There shouldn't be any gods that can stay alive for such a long time."
Finally, the Returning Ruins slowly came into their sights, and their speed decreased gradually. When Zhong Yue looked around, he saw light pillars descending from the skies and landing everywhere around the land of Returning Ruins.
He was also sent to the ground by the light pillars along with Qiu Jin'er, and when the light pillars faded, the spectacular landscape of the Returning Ruins was completely revealed to their eyes.
In the air, there was a river running strong, flowed towards the bottom, into the ground, out of a mountain far away, and back into the air without end in a seemingly never-ending loop.
Somewhere near them was an enormous god skeleton that was half buried in the ground with its rib cage exposed to the air. The bones of its ribs formed bridges which connected to the cliffs.
Quiet, deserted, desolate, and barren were apt words to describe the land of the Returning Ruins.
The entire land of Returning Ruins was shrouded in a dark haze while also containing an inexplicable holy aura that emanated from the ruins of the palaces that littered the landscape.
This place was once the first level of the Six Paths World's heavenly court which was built on the head of the Wu Shuang Six Path Giant. The place where the Reincarnation Monarch stayed. Other than that, on the six hands of the giant were the other six heavenly palaces; the Kun Lun Realm was one of the pieces of one of the heavenly palaces.
"The pressure!"
Zhong Yue stretched himself, and he quickly frowned upon discovering the immense gravitational force around here. He then visualized his wings behind his back and flew up into the skies. He was only able to fly up to a height of a few tens of meters.
On the other hand, Qiu Jin'er cast a wood elemental skill as she planned to turn the surrounding area into a 100-foot sword forest, but in the end, she was only able to convert the area within 15 meters of her into the sword forest.
"Senior martial brother, there is also a huge pressure suppressing out power!"
Zhong Yue nodded as he cast his own skills to find that they had been heavily suppressed.
"The pressure is too great!"
Zhong Yue and Qiu Jin'er inhaled deep breaths and summoned their Yuan Shen. But they realized that their Yuan Shen also faced the suppression of the planet.
The stunned Qiu Jin'er then suddenly shouted, "Atman Body As One!"
A three-feet tall adorable little girl suddenly appeared in front of Zhong Yue, which caused Zhong Yue to laugh and Qiu Jin'er to dispel it with a flustered face.
"The pressure here is going to affect our strength for sure."
Zhong Yue then said, "Jin'er, we best familiarize ourselves with our new situation before we make any other moves."
Upon hearing Zhong Yue's words, Qiu Jin'er turned serious and nodded.
In this land where their strength was suppressed, it would be unwise if they moved around without understanding the limits of their new strengths.
Half a day had passed by the
time they finally finished acclimating to their newly suppressed powers.
Meanwhile, the surroundings were extremely silent to the extent that it was eerie and scary as the strange mist spread across the land.
Zhong Yue then opened his divine third eye and scanned around while saying, "Jin'er, there seems to be a light given off by only the godly herbs!"
Immediately, they headed towards that direction and soon reached the skeleton of the gigantic god. Got stepped the rib bridge that led toward the opposite end, but Zhong Yue suddenly stopped.
To Qiu Jin'er's surprised, Zhong Yue hugged onto a rib, and Qiu Jin'er quickly asked, "Senior martial brother, what are you doing?"
"Keeping it."
Zhong Yue lifted this rib with all his might and said, "This is a huge divine bone, I should able to forge an incredible soul weapon with this bone!"
Hong long——-
The skeleton suddenly trembled, startling Zhong Yue who had quickly raised the rib up while two bones emerged from the ground and hung onto the cliffs.
Gradually, the skeleton of this god stood up, pinning Zhong Yue onto the rib. Qiu Jin'er, who was standing on the ground, quickly shouted, "Senior martial brother, let go quickly!"
Without hesitation, Zhong Yue let go and quickly dragged the lady away as soon as he touched the ground. Right behind them was a skeleton that had stood up completely.
"My head! Where is my head, who took my head?"
The headless skeleton suddenly started walking, chasing after the two and reaching his hands out toward them.
"Give me back my head!"
Zhong Yue immediately turned around and visualized the[Celestial Demon Tai Chi Art], attacking the skeleton with full strength.
As his all-out attack clashed with the skeleton hand, the hand was launched up into the air while blood flowed out from Zhong Yue's mouth, and he quickly ran away with Qiu Jin'er.
"My head!" shouted the skeleton as he chased after them and slammed his hand onto the ground.
Meanwhile, Zhong Yue and Qiu Jin'er ran as fast as they could for the headless god skeleton chased after them and attacked them relentlessly. Suddenly, they spotted a few strange-looking Qi Practitioners walking toward them.
"Out of my way!" Zhong Yue shouted fiercely.
The few Qi Practitioners were stunned for a moment, and when they realized that it was Zhong Yue and Qiu Jin'er, they all exclaimed happily, "There you are! These two brats are the ones from the Kun Lun Realm?"
They then charged toward them, gleefully launching their attack at the two of them while laughing, "We are the Da Dun God's disciple, my name is Dun Zu'er, and this is my senior martial brother, Dun Qi...."
"Don't care!" replied Zhong Yue without hesitation.
With Qiu Jin'er in tow, Zhong Yue charged straight forward while the demonic Qi Practitioners were shocked to see that they had lost their grips on their weapons after flying for a short distance; they were unaware of the planet's suppressive effects.
Zhong Yue
and Qiu Jin'er then picked up the soul weapons, and jumped over these few Qi Practitioners,
"Thieves! How dare you!" shouted Dun Zu'er angrily.
Qiu Jin'er, who was, after all, soft-hearted, then turned around and warned, "Get out of here quickly, there is something dangerous behind us!"
"What thing?" asked Dun Zu'er. At the same time, a huge skeleton hand grabbed towards him out of nowhere. And without being able to react in time, the hand grabbed onto his neck and twisted his head off his neck in an instant. The other startled demonic Qi Practitioners then looked forward only to see a huge skeleton walking out from the mist to stand in front of them with Dun Zu'er's head affixed on top of his own neck.
To their horror, flesh grew quickly from the head of Dun Zu'er and attached to the skeleton. The eyes inside of Dun Zu'er's head rolled around inside of their sockets disturbingly before they finished recalibrating to its new host, and the skeleton then said, "I have my own head now!"
The skeleton of the god then said happily, "I have my head now but it is too small, I need more heads!"
It then did the same to the head of another Qi Practitioner, placing it on its neck again while the other two remaining Qi Practitioners screamed as they ran away quickly. They, however, were killed by the skeleton effortlessly, and their heads were removed as well to contribute to the skeleton's new head. After that, with the four heads, the skeleton laughed and said, "Good, good! But I still need more! The more, the better!"
