Chapter 333: War of Revelation (2)
Chapter 333: War of Revelation (2)
The sword of Cheon Yuseong cleaved through the air.
Having mastered the freedom of his sword's energy and acquiring the essence of the 'Chuhon Sword' from the Chuhon Sage Shadow, Cheon Yuseong had reached a realm not easily challenged, even by the dwellers.
"Arghhh!"
"Bl-block it!"
"How is blood magic not working on him? Just what kind of human is he!"
"At least five must team up. Only that way can we stand a chance!"
Cries of agony rose amongst the blood relatives as they faced the daunting task of taking on Cheon Yuseong.
Despite being caught up in an unexpected battle and soaked in sweat, Cheon Yuseong knew that dragging out the fight was dangerous.
"I'll strike the highest ranks."
In an instant, he subdued three and charged toward the head of the blood relatives.
"Futile attempts," uttered Anton, a muscular vampire with a greatsword twice the size of an average rapier.
Clang!
The greatsword collided with the rapier, creating a burst of dazzling sparks.
In a desperate situation where one had to exert all their strength, both knew:
"This is everything..."
Cheon Yuseong and Anton simultaneously gritted their teeth, squeezing out curses from within.
"It's all because of Kang Jinhuk!"
Their voices merged into a chorus of blame.
***
'Hmm?'
Jinhuk scratched his ear, oddly feeling as if he was being talked about a lot, even amidst the fierce battle.
Just then...
"Kraaagh!"
He sliced the throat of a blood relative who had closed in on him.
As a faint stream of blood started spraying, the vampire's forehead met the end of Kruger's gun.
"A gun? Those little toys don't even tickle."
"We'll see. Mine stings a bit more."
Bang!
The bullet, enhanced by the 'Blessing of the Stars' and 'Mandala,' penetrated the vampire's head.
Despite their incredible regenerative abilities, the wound showed no sign of healing.
"Sacred power!"
"Right... He can also wield that vile power."
"The ones skilled with the sword, the upper blood relatives, will handle him. The rest focus on that human. It's not the swordsman that's critical now, but him."
The pure-bloods leading the blood relatives shouted commands.
For the vampires, the combination of Kruger and Fang was the equivalent of a calamity.
After all, mid-range combat using swords and guns was Kang Jinhuk's forte.
At this rate, regardless of their numbers, every blood relative would end up with holes in their heads.
However, at that moment...
The sacred power in the bullet faintly weakened.
Jinhuk's eyes narrowed. There was no mistake.
This was the 'ability sealing' Melena had mentioned, meaning the head of the Magician's Association, Nietzsche, was present.
Jinhuk stopped his attack and created distance.
"Come out. Stop hiding."
He flicked the gun toward the shadows, and a dull thud echoed from a previously unseen spot.
An elderly man with a staff appeared.
"Ahem. I intended to seal your abilities gradually, but you've noticed? Your ability to sense magic truly surpasses imagination. No wonder you were able to defeat my subordinates and the heads of families."
Without needing to be told, Jinhuk knew who this man was.
Nietzsche.
The leader of the Mages and the occupant of the 'King Arthur' seat at the Round Table.
The player with the most aberrant ability among them all.
Jinhuk swiftly activated 'Eyes of Gluttony.'
Name: Nietzsche
Gender: Male
Age: ??? years
Level: 105
Strength 33, Dexterity 35, Vitality 32, Magic Power 95, Chaotic Power 332
Available Stat Points: 0
Occupation: Apostle of the Abyss
Unique Ability: Nihilism (Purple)
Skills: 'Telekinesis' Lv27, 'Blade of Darkness' Lv26, 'Absolute Obedience' Lv24, 'Oath of Others' Lv23, 'Dark Magic' Lv22
[Copy condition: A paranoiac lost in nihilism. A sociopath. All these descriptors apply to this man. To copy his unique ability, two conditions must be met:
1. You must overcome the power of nihilism.
2. Make the superior deity who supports Nietzsche abandon his apostle.]
The degree of perfection in meeting the copy conditions determines the quality of the ability copied.
An apostle of darkness could be considered a devil in the service of the Demon King.
But Nietzsche, the leader of the Mages' Association, has completed the transition to a higher class, becoming an 'Apostle of the Abyss.'
'That's a problematic class change.'
While an apostle of darkness receives a dramatic increase in all stats and abilities through the Demon King's blessings,
an 'Apostle of the Abyss' raises the rank of their unique ability itself.
A S-class Nihilism that has received the Demon King's blessings exerts even greater power.
But what caught his eye was...
'I was skeptical when Melena told me, but to think someone could obtain the full form of that unique ability.'
Honestly, it was startling.
Purple-grade Nihilism.
A complete form of the power of Nihilism, just as tricky to acquire as 'Fusion.'
And now, he was facing such a monster.
'It's as if a mid-tier or high-tier devil, not a player, stands before me.'
Plus, the guardian of the Underworld, Cerberus, complicated matters.
As Elise was also busy battling Hynes, the situation was dire.
Just then...
Cheon Yuseong's back met with Jinhuk's.
"Such an annoying ability. Is there no way around it?"
Chen Yuseong gasped for air, his sword having lost its harmony since the sealing of his ability had forced him to retreat here.
"Now you're struggling too? Bemoaning about how you can't use the Song of the Sword or the Chuhon Sword makes me think you've got some invincibility skill?"
"Shut it. Who do you think I am? I'm not immortal."
"Really? Always charging in fearlessly, I thought you had some sort of invincibility skill."
"One more word, and you'll be the first I'll cut down."
Despite their bickering, Nietzsche watched with an incredulous expression.
"Hmm. You still have time for pointless banter. Seems like you haven't grasped the severity of the situation."
[Nietzsche activates 'Telekinesis' Lv27!]
A high-frequency hum infiltrated their eardrums.
"What's this... Hey! You fool, Sword Saint!"
"I know!"
Jinhuk and Cheon Yuseong both stiffened at the same instant.
Pain shot through them, but it was just enough to prevent the spikes from piercing them.
Boom!
The floor shattered, and debris scattered in all directions.
"Ho?"
Nietzsche's lips curled slightly, intrigued by their survival.
"Even with the skill sealed, you noticed my ability based on the advent of magic alone. You even know the countermeasures, however temporary. I was surprised before, but now I'm amazed the more I see."
Normally, a sealed skill would cause panic.
But Jinhuk and Cheon Yuseong seemed too well-prepared, reacting as if they were used to such situations.
"We've had our fair share of escapes and close calls."
"Ultimately, it's a battle against time. One mistake and it's over. Let's see how many minutes you can last... Shall we watch?"
Nietzsche collected magic power again.
Time distorted, and their freedom was restricted.
The attack began.
Boom! Boom!
A bombardment of telekinesis and ranged attacks followed, simple yet overwhelmingly dangerous against their sealed abilities and skills.
Jinhuk pierced his thigh with the tip of Fang.
The sharp pain allowed him to react to the 'binding,' at least barely escaping before a fatal blow.
Still, there were only mere moments, 0.67 seconds to spare.
As Jinhuk and Cheon Yuseong narrowly dodged, Nietzsche burst into laughter.
"Hahaha! Not bad. Try avoiding this next one!"
[Nietzsche activates 'Dark Magic' Lv22!]
The ground oozed with purple mist.
A curse skill made of gathered grudges collided.
"Hiiii..."
"Ow. Ow. Ow!"
"Ki-kill mee..."
Faces with vacant eyes and wide mouths emitted horrible screams, specialized in collapsing the victim's mind and causing physical chain explosions.
Needless to say, contact meant the end.
Instinctively, Jinhuk swung his sword.
But the outcome was inevitable.
Boom!
Without sacred power, the dagger couldn't cut through grudges.
A vast explosion ensued, the area engulfed in a purple inferno.
Nietzsche wasn't one to stop there.
Buzzing...
Boom! Boom!
Dozens of grudges devastated the area, leaving no chance for survival.
Cerberus' howling added to the seemingly hellish scenery.
"Dirty humans..."
"A gesture from the head is only fitting. Those irksome humans now stand still."
"Looks like not even their ashes will be found."
The blood relatives sneered as they watched.
***
From the immense crater, raging flames surged.
As Nietzsche gazed at the inferno, he eventually turned away.
It was inconceivable for any creature to survive in such a blaze.
...Or so he thought when a familiar shadow emerged behind him.
Though scorched and covered in ashes, Jinhuk and Cheon Yuseong's eyes still sparkled with ferocity.
Silent and swift.
Two swords aimed to decapitate Nietzsche.
Or so it seemed.
Clang!
"As expected. You survived that attack, and I anticipated you'd exploit my carelessness for a surprise strike."
['Blade of Darkness' activates!]
Unlike the previous stone forms, this blade was different.
Demonic energy fully enveloped the blade.
"No matter the struggle, I will show you the difference in our power."
But then, right as the blade was about to rush forward.
[A deity intervenes in the battlefield.]
A new variable had entered the equation.
