Chapter 227: A Mother's Love and Worry
As the retired General handed out the trophies and rewards, cameras flashed, and the winners stepped forward to receive their prizes, basking in the admiration of their peers.
The ceremony went on, and more and more people started buzzing with excitement about Rio Havenglow, the adopted child who had shattered records and created history.
But amidst all the cheers and applause, news began to spread about a certain young boy and his extraordinary achievements.
The Adopted child of Havenglow breaking their favored daughter's record took the human world like a fire in the forest.
Within hours, the internet was abuzz with comments, articles, and social media posts about Rio and his teammate Nyla, who had stunned the human world with their performance in the national military school tournament.
From fan pages to news outlets, everyone was talking about the remarkable duo, and people were captivated by their stories.
Some people talked about how he had surpassed the old genius, while others whispered about Lily Havenglow, the winner from the three-year ago who had already reached the red stage at a such young age.
As far as they knew, Rio was only on the black stage, How could that sixteen years old boy possibly defeat Lily in the upcoming international tournament?
Despite their doubts, the audience couldn't help but feel a sense of elation. They were aware of the fact that with Rio's remarkable strength and skill, humanity had a new hope for victory in the next international tournament against the Dhovrix four years from now.
And who knew, maybe he would surprise them all and surpass even Lily Havenglow in the end.
Nyla strode confidently towards the school's gate, clutching Rio's winner award along with two additional trophies for ranking second and for the team's number one spot in the tournament.
Her head held high and a smile on her face, she was joyous as she made her way back to the school after the award ceremony.
As Nyla stepped into the school's grounds, she was greeted with loud cheers from her fellow students. They had already heard about her incredible performance in the tournament and were eager to show their support and admiration for her.
The sound of their applause echoed throughout the hallways, making Nyla feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.
The atmosphere was vibrant with excitement, and the girl couldn't help but smile as she proudly carried all the awards that were a testament to her and her beloved man's victory in the national military school tournament.
Nyla walked into Rio's room, feeling exhausted yet accomplished after the tournament. As she scanned the room, her eyes fell on her phone, still plugged into the charger. It seemed like everyone she knew had been trying to reach her, eager to offer their congratulations.
She had been receiving calls non-stop on her phone ever since the ceremony ended. Her relatives, friends, and even acquaintances as well as known schoolmates wanted to congratulate her on the outstanding performance she had given in the tournament.
She had guessed the inevitable flood of congratulatory calls, so she decided to leave her phone at home. If she wanted to talk to Rio she could always converse via telepathy, so there was no need to carry the phone with her. With a sense of relief, she hoped to escape the constant buzzing and ringing of her phone from selfish people and enjoy herself alone at the ceremony.
As Nyla picked up the phone from the charger, she noticed a name flashing on the screen, "Arden Mailon," her father's name.
She hesitated for a moment, feeling a mix of emotions - anger, sadness, and bitterness. He had never been there for her, and now he was trying to reach out after all these years.
She didn't even bother saving his name as 'Father' or 'Dad' with his contact number since he had never shown her any love or affection.
With a deep sigh, she muttered to herself, "This man finally remembers he has another daughter. Too bad for him, I have another father now..."
Nyla put the phone back into the charger with a cold smile and walked towards the portal capsule in the hall. She was eager to go back to her real home where she had her beloved sisters and loving husband.

Aliyah Havenglow received the news of Rio's victory, but her reaction was not one of happiness.
Instead, a worried expression took over her face as she contemplated the implications of his victory. She had hoped for Rio to win in the next year's national military school tournament, but he had gone beyond her expectation and won this year's tournament, putting him on a collision course with Lily Havenglow. This thought worried her deeply.
As soon as Rio returned back, he reached for his smartphone and dialed Aliyah's number, hoping to get the truth about his parents. However, to his disappointment, he learned that she was not on Earth as she didn't receive his call. The boy decided to return to the Land of Asura and wait for her arrival.
"I am really happy and proud that you're as talented as your Mother but this is going to cause a clash in the family. What have you done, My child..." She had a crestfallen face as she gazed at the smartphone's screen which had seven missed calls from Rio.
Aliyah couldn't shake off the idea of what would happen if Rio and Lily faced off against each other in the upcoming International Tournament. The mere thought of her two children fighting against one another left her helpless.
The very idea was concerning, and she couldn't help but wonder if Rio would agree to accept her wish and fulfill her selfish demand. The uncertainty was suffocating and she was left with a nagging feeling in the pit of her stomach.
