Chapter 222: Madame's Mysterious Motives
He knew he had to stay focused and fight, but at the same time, he needed to gather information and unveil the truth behind this ambush.
With the three students closing in, Rio took a deep breath and prepared for the fight.
The clash of the blade against blade echoed through the forest as the battle ensued, but Rio remained composed as he desired to find the mystery behind his attackers.
The first student lunged at him with a sword, but Rio deftly dodged the strike and countered with a swift kick to the stomach.
The student stumbled back, gasping for air, and the crimson-haired boy used the opportunity to send him further away with another kick.
The second student came at him with a mace, but Rio was ready for him. He blocked the first strike with his sword and followed up with a punch to the face, knocking the student away.
The strength behind his punches was stronger than intermediate-tier black stage warrior as his physical power reached above one hundred fifty.
The third student, Bryan, a tall and muscular boy and the leader of the evil team, charged at him with a fierce expression on his face. Rio met him head-on, their swords clashing loudly in the night air.
This time, It looked like a fierce battle, with neither side gaining the upper hand. Rio's mind was focused solely on the face of the leader as he was unable to recognize this person.
In the end, he kicked Byran away as he saw others were coming to engage with him in the battle.
Sophia and company watched from a distance, their eyes widening in surprise at Rio's skill to handle more than one opponent at a time. Despite the odds being against him, he held his own against the three attackers. It was clear that he was not to be underestimated.
As Rio fought the five attacking students, the other three he had just saved watched on in awe. They were still catching their breath from their own battle and couldn't believe the strength this boy was displaying.
Rio fought fiercely against the sinister students, dodging their attacks and delivering accurate blows.
As he was in the middle of the fight, he overheard one of his enemies whisper to the others in a complaining tone, "Madame said that he is a purple stage warrior. She lied to us. We need to retreat, they are more in number."
His eyebrows shot up at the mention of Madame's name.
Who was this lady and why she wanted him dead?
Before he could dwell on it any further, he noticed that one of the enemy camp students was trying to escape.
Rio's eyes narrowed as he wasn't planning to let any of them escape, and didn't think he could avoid not killing them any longer as his enemy decided to leave.
With a fierce glint in his eyes, he enchanted his body with thunder, cracking and glowing in blue.
His sword made a buzzing sound as he launched himself like a rocket swiftly catching up to the escaping student.
The opponent tried to defend himself, but Rio was too fast and too powerful.
*Slice!*
With a single fluid motion, Rio sliced through the air and severed the student's head from his body, splattering the blood in the air. The head rolled on the ground before even the body fell like a rag-doll.
The scene was very gruesome, as the boy's aura totally changed, turning the air icy. His schoolmates felt a cold sweat run down their spine as they watched his crimson hair fluttering in the wind, the blood dripping from the blade of his silver-bloom king sword.
Before he looked as if he was on the same level as them but now he was one-sidely beating them.
The other four enemy students watched in horror, realizing that they were completely helpless as Rio turned to face them, his silver bloom king sword at the ready.
They hesitated, unsure of what to do next. But Rio didn't give them a chance to think. He cast [Wave of the Phantom Thunder Strikes], another battle art technique he had learned from Helia. His body merged with the shadows of his blade, and multiple thunder slashes flashed through the night forest.
His sword left the afterimages in the air, leaving behind a trail of destruction and cutting with deadly precision.
In mere seconds, three more heads lay on the ground, dyeing it red. The air was already thick with the stench of death and blood.
Bryan's eyes blazed with fury as he watched his team crumble under the sheer strength of Rio's power. He could feel his heart racing, his breaths coming out in ragged gasps. In his mind, he could only see red as he charged toward Rio, his muscles tensing with every step he took.
But as he got closer, he suddenly felt a shiver, It was as if the air around him had turned icy cold. He was still processing what was happening, and Rio vanished into thin air, leaving Bryan dumbfounded and disoriented.
He tried to regain his bearings, but before he could make a move, he felt a sharp, icy sensation at his neck.
The next moment, he found himself tumbling to the ground, his vision fading to black. Rio beheaded him with a swift, decisive blow, leaving Bryan with no chance to defend himself.
The crimson-haired boy stood among the fallen opponents, his chest heaving as he tried to catch his breath. His eyes darted around, taking in the aftermath of the intense battle. Bodies lay strewn across the ground, their blood staining the grass beneath them.
As he wiped the sweat from his brow, Rio's mind raced with questions.
Why had Madame sent these students after him?
What was Madame's mysterious motives?
