Chapter 2141: Dean and Christos

2141 Dean and Christos

Just like that, a deal was made behind the scenes. The gambler academy students who were the most rowdy because of the closure of exchange centers suddenly calmed down. They all got a message from the academy to go back.

Dove divided all of them into small batches and spread them across multiple rooms. The student union members from the freshmen to grade 4 seniors were the first batch that she met.

"I just made a deal with Icarus, the manager of the hub regarding the exchange center situation..."

She explained the whole deal. They were all surprised that they managed to solve this impeding disaster just like that.

She made them sign the soul contracts right there and assigned them to one room each so that they will explain the situation to the rest of the students. Then she went to the Dean and asked him to do something.

"Why do I need to be the one to sign all these soul contracts?" Dean Wharton is pissed. Because Dove wanted the students to sign the contract with the Dean. Which means, Dean has to sign thousands of contracts at the same time."

"Because you are the Dean, and you should have been the one to solve this problem to begin with."

"Then what is the point of the rest of the staff in this Academy and your stupid student council?"

He grumbled, but he did as he was told.

The contracts were sent to different rooms and were signed.

Everyone in the city knew that something big is happening in the Gambler Academy, however no one other than the Gambler Academy students know what actually happened.

After that, Dove and the student union started going on with their business of messing up the Zeus Academy properties. By now, there are a lot of grade 1 resource points that are already under their control.

Their should have been doing the ransom exchanges if everything went normally. However, right now the Gambler academy didn't open the ransom talks. Instead, they just locked up the prisoners and didn't even offer a chance to have a conversation.

Many students, seniors, instructors and elders came to Gambler Academy to ask for the ransom exchange, however, the student council was adamant with their decision. Their next instinct was of course to go to their Dean, the only problem is that their Dean is suspended at the moment and is not allowed in the academy premises. So, they went to find him in the inn within the city, where he is currently residing.

Christos took the lead on this one again.

*KNOCK* *KNOCK*

Christos knocked on the door.

"Come in."

He opened the door and went in. The Dean is sitting on the floor. The room is empty, nothing is in there. Not even a bed or a chair. The dean is in the lotus position in a meditative state. He opened his eyes and looked at Christos.

"Sit down. We need to talk a lot."

Christos did as he was told. Both of them stayed in silence for a couple of seconds, before the Dean spoke.

"There is a lot to go through. But let's start with why you are here."

"It's the ransom exchange. The Gambler Academy occupied several resource points and their activities are already our Grade 2 resource points. But they are not accepting any sort of ransom to release our students.

They are being held as prisoners for a while now and there is no response."

"So?"

"We need your advice. How can we get them out?"

"To be honest, I don't know how to handle that situation either. The most I would have done would be going to the Gambler Academy and mediate with my words. And those words would have carried some weight, when I had the position of the Dean.

Now, I am not the Dean."

"Sir, Please. How do we handle this?"

"Christos, that is the only way I knew. I always follow the rules and play by the rules. Only in the last few days, I gave into the circumstances and here I am. I lost the reputation I have accumulated, I lost the job I put my life into."

"It is just a temporary thing. Why are you acting so depressed? You are the Dean of the Zeus Academy for gods sake."

Christos lost it. He was not a patient person to begin with.

"Yeah, that is all you know. Do you know where these two elders actually are? With Theron. Do you want to go there and bring them back? Do you want to go and mediate that situation? Then I will fix your mess.

How about that? Do you want trade?"

"Theron has them?" Christos asked with his mouth so wide that his jaw could hit the floor and he wanted to do that, because even that would have been an understatement to express his surprise.

"Yes, how do you think I brought back Pearl to make a deal with the Judge? Do you think that he will handover that girl after the giant screw up caused by your stupid plan? I had to trade them."

Christos took deep breaths.

"Wha...what is he going to do with them? What is he planning?"

"I don't know. He is planning to ascend to the celestial realm and become a god, he saw little success until now. He doesn't know what the problem is and he needs the help of a god to identify the problem so that he can solve the issue.

For that, he needs to give out a certain level of sacrifice. The two elders are the sinners of the Olympus, they would fetch a pretty price."

"So, you are not going to get your job back?"

"Not until the case stands."

"So, either the case has to be solved or the plaintiff has to disappear?"

Dean looked at Christos and said.

"You might have enough background Christos, but don't poke something that you shouldn't have. A few years ago, Icarus pissed off one elder, because of this case and had to quit school, he was tortured and completely got stuck in that house arrest.

However, never ever take that a sign of his weakness. He is neither weak nor incompetent. I don't know how he managed to get in touch with the Hub, but the moment he did, he disappeared and came here.

He can at least go against a person that is one stage higher in cultivation than him. Whatever pride you have for your background, he should have double for his accomplishments, but he didn't have that."

"What are you trying to say? Can you get to the point?"

The Dean chuckled.

"See, you couldn't be patient to let me finish my point, he has been patient for years."

"What does that prove?"

"It proves that he is someone that shouldn't be provoked. A person who has patience like that, who can tolerate all that... they react extremely wildly when they are pushed into corner and those corners include threats to their life, threats to the people they love and the actions of the people who take their patience for granted.

And you are planning to do exactly that."

Christos gritted his teeth.

"You focus on getting your job back. Since you are not the Dean, the situation is getting out of hand. No one is respecting the academy any more. If you are the Dean, I am sure the gambler academy wouldn't have acted this way."

Christos was about to get up, but at this moment, Dean gestured him to sit back down.

"I have something more to talk to you.

First of all, right now there is a problem going in the region. The exchange center."

"Yeah, there is just some trouble with the exchange center. It will be fine."

"No, it won't be. In the next few days, it will be the end of a week. You need to pay coins to the Hub."

"So?"

"You stupid Idiot." Dean chuckled at Christos' stupidity.

Christos didn't know why the Dean is chuckling, but he just stayed put and waited.

"You are going to see one of the greatest disasters that ever hit the Academy region. It would be worse than an Academy war. Because just to get over this disaster, people will start fighting against each other, there will be assassinations planned, close friends will turn on each other.

The families of the people that are involved will be effected in a way that you do not know.

And all of this is happening right under your knows, under the smokescreen created by the flaming skulls, the court cases, the new pocket dimensions that should have never existed.

I kind of think everything is connected. If they are not connected, someone is taking advantage of it with all the knowledge.

You need to act carefully.

Right now, it is already too late for me. I cannot get out of the current situation that easily."
