Chapter 1630: Boss Li Who Protects The Weak Is Such A Warm Person!
Wu Tong looked very calm. She said to Ye Tianxin and Li Qingcang, "Have you two eaten dinner?"
Ye Tianxin said to Wu Tong, "Mom, Brother Li and I haven't eaten yet."
After Ye Tianxin spoke, Li Hang cut in and said sarcastically, "You're already married. Why are you still calling him that? Does he not have a name?"
Li Hang's words made Li Qingcang raise his eyebrows. He protected Ye Tianxin and said toward Li Hang, "Dad, Tianxin and I are married. She can decide whatever she wants to call me. This is nothing for you to concern yourself about."
Li Qingcang didn't tolerate Li Hang's behavior.
He wasn't a man who couldn't even protect his wife.
Li Hang took a deep breath, waved his hand, and said, "Fine, I won't interfere with your business."
After Li Hang said that, he added, "Let auntie make you something to eat."
Li Qingcang looked toward Wu Tong and said, "No thanks. I don't feel like eating right now."
"Mom, is there anything else that you need to pack?"
Wu Tong said softly, "No, all my stuff is already here."
After she said that, she took her bag and said to Li Qingcang, "I'll be staying over there tonight. Qingcang, remember to bring your dad to the Civil Affairs Bureau on time tomorrow. I'll be waiting at the front door."
"Mom, I'll send you off."
"There's no need. I can drive myself."
Ye Tianxin thought about it. Wu Tong seemed to mistreat her when they first met, but her attitude changed rather significantly afterward.
Besides, Wu Tong was treating her well. She also slowly learned about how awkward Wu Tong felt.
It was rare to find such a reasonable and understanding mother-in-law.
Wu Tong simply thought that Ye Tianxin would snatch her son away, so she overreacted.
Once Li Hang reminded her about it, she came back to her senses.
Besides, Wu Tong genuinely thought that Tianxin was very good now. She was kind, thoughtful, considerate, and gentle.
"Brother Li, we'll meet at the Civil Affairs Bureau tomorrow. You go with Dad. I'll go with Mom."
Of course, Wu Tong wouldn't let Ye Tianxin and Li Qingcang get separated. These two had only just gotten back together after being separated for a while. They must've had countless things to tell each other.
Why should she get in their way?
The divorce was her decision; she didn't want to cause her son to get divorced as well.
"Tianxin, no need. Just stay with Qingcang. I've already hired someone to tidy up the place there. I just need to go there and sleep."
Although she said that, Ye Tianxin and Li Qingcang still stubbornly sent Wu Tong back to the estate where her apartment was located.
Wu Tong's apartment was located in a rather old residential estate.
There were tall, French plane trees planted on both sides of the sidewalk.
Fresh green saplings were growing from the branches of the plane trees.
Wu Tong stood at the front of the car and said to her son and daughter-in-law, "All right, the two of you can go back now. This is an old estate, so it's difficult to get a parking spot here. I can go up by myself."
"Mom, I support your decision to get divorced."
When Wu Tong heard that, she smiled lightly and said, "I just felt that I'd be wasting my life if I stayed married!"
Life was very short.
Right now, she could still talk and move around. Her brain hadn't slowed to the point that she couldn't react quick enough to things.
She wanted to do something not for her husband or children, but for herself.
"Take care on your way back. Drive slowly, okay?"
Ye Tianxin and Li Qingcang left in the car. Ye Tianxin saw Wu Tong in the rearview mirror, standing where she was.
"Honey, Mom seems very noble."
Li Qingcang held the driving wheel with one hand and rubbed Tianxin's head with another. He looked at the traffic in front and said with a sunken tone, "Every mother is noble. Back then, if my mother didn't get pregnant with me, or if my grandmother didn't abuse my sister, perhaps she would be a great, albeit inconspicuous, lead engineer. My mom gave up her career to round out this family. Back then, my dad would still feel as if he owed something to my mom. Now that my grandmother had passed away, he took everything for granted."
