Chapter 1137: Stranger
We're not really compatible I guess...
Yan Su felt distraught and heartbroken after hearing him say that.
She remembered how he talked about how compatible they were not too long ago. He was a director and she was a singer. Now he was telling her they weren't compatible after all.
Perhaps they really weren't compatible. They would only be able to tell after giving it a shot.
She didn't expect them to break up this way, leaving such a terrible impression on each other.
Maybe he even regretted dating her in the first place.
"Alright, let's break up," Yan Su said softly after a long while. Her words were heavy.
Mo Liuxi widened his eyes and turned to look at her again.
Even breathing hurt at that moment.
After a while, he bit his lip and smirked to himself ironically. He wanted her to chicken out and regret her decision. He wanted her to think about her actions.
He expected too much from her, too many fantasies. She must be dying to break up with him.
"Alright, please return my house keys," he said coldly through gritted teeth.
"..."
Yan Su's face grew pale. Did he remember when he first handed her the keys to his apartment?
She lowered her head, retrieved the keys from her bag and removed the key from her keychain. She hesitated when she saw the ring on her finger, but then she slipped it off and handed it back to him before he could ask her for it.
Mo Liuxi's expression was grim when he saw the ring in her palm.
"Except for the keys, I won't ask for what I've already given away. I'm not a petty man," he took the keys and brushed the ring aside. it fell to the ground and rolled on the floor before disappearing under the couch.
Yan Su froze on the spot.
She didn't expect that ring to end up this way, the ring he had once put on her finger so meticulously.
"Yan Su, you take care of yourself," Mo Liuxi's head throbbed when he said that while changing into his shoes. then he turned on his heel and walked out of the apartment briskly.
The house was now silent as Yan Su burst into tears. Tears were streaming down her cheeks uncontrollably.
She touched her belly, at a loss of what to do.
She wanted to tell him about her pregnancy so badly, but what about An Ning? He blamed her for everything. She didn't know who he was anymore. And she now knew he only thought of her as a casual, loose woman.
She couldn't imagine what it would be like if they forced themselves to stay in this relationship.
...
Outside her apartment, Mo Liuxi slumped against the wall as tears flooded his eyes as well.
As a child, he never cried when he fell or hurt himself. Now he was crying...over her.
He gave his all to this relationship—and what did he get in return? Heartache!
Did he fall in love with the wrong person? Did he even know who she was?
Yan Su, Yan Su.
It was a name he never wanted to hear again.
Christmas. He would hate this festival for the rest of his life.
...
After a sleepless night, Yan Su got up and started getting ready for school. She was terrified she would bump into Mo Liuxi at the door. She was afraid to see his warm and tender gaze change to something much colder and harsher.
She waited until she heard his footsteps disappear outside before leaving the house.
When she went out, she bumped into Mo Liuxi, who turned back to look at her.
Their meetup made her flustered, but her heart calmed when he pretended that he didn't see her. He walked by her nonchalantly.
They were strangers now.
