Chapter 1098: Deal

After changing his clothes, Alex quickly made his way toward the meeting room, not wanting to let them waste any more time. He had made them wait for a long time, so it was better not to displease them anymore as a basic courtesy.

However, Alex found someone standing in front of the meeting room. She had blonde hair neatly tied into a ponytail. She wore a tight white shirt and white skirt with a golden stripe on the bottom. Despite trying her best to keep calm, she still felt frustrated just to see this Spirit God.

She placed her hand on her chest and bowed to Alex. "It's my pleasure to meet you, Spirit God. My name is Michelle. I am the Saintess."

Alex nodded his head to greet her back. "Alexander. Nice to meet you."

She looked at Alex's nonchalant attitude and clenched her teeth. Despite being on the side of the oppressed, the Spirit God dared to force them to wait for half a year. And there was no apology or whatsoever.

In addition, her father locked himself as soon as he reached Eulja. Every time they requested a meeting, her father didn't want to meet them, even though he never acted that way in the past.

This made her uneasy as if Eulja had poisoned her father, so she thought Alex was required to give her an explanation of this situation.

"As much as I hate to say this, but I believe you have the responsibility to explain everything to us, Spirit God."

"Is that what your Holy God said?" Alex narrowed his eyes.

"..." The Saintess fell silent. It was easy to lie, but she seemed to have no intention of lying.

Either way, that response was enough for Alex to continue walking toward the door. "Just enter the room. I don't like to repeat myself, especially to someone who couldn't represent their leader's words."

Alex narrowed his eyes and grabbed the door's handle before the Saintess grasped his shoulder.

"What is the meaning of this action?" Alex glanced at the Saintess with a cold expression.

The Saintess clenched her teeth. Her hand was shaking, but she ultimately released his shoulder. "I apologize for my action."

'Annoying.' Alex thought and pushed the door.

Including them, there were twenty people inside this room.

The Holy God was surprised to see his daughter outside and furrowed her eyebrows. "Hm? What are you doing, Michelle?"

"..." Michelle could only bow her head.

The Holy God let out a long sigh before saying, "My deepest apology to Spirit God. It seems that my daughter has offended you...But I hope it won't affect what will be discussed in this room."

Alex shrugged. "Not a big deal. At least, she didn't inflict any harm."

Christoper nodded before waving his hand. "Michelle, come here."

The Saintess acknowledged his order and returned to his side as Christoper shook his head tiredly.

"I think we should cut to the chase." Alex narrowed his eyes. "I assume that you have understood my real purpose, right, Holy God?"

The Rank 2 Gods behind Christoper frowned, feeling a bit weird to see a Rank 5 God address a God King so casually. But since the other party was the Spirit God, they couldn't utter their dissatisfaction. At the very least, they had finally seen the figure who dared to make them wait this long.

"Yes." Christoper looked down, feeling troubled with that report. "You want to create an alliance between you and me... Is that correct?"

"What?!" His followers dropped their jaws. They had two thoughts right at this instant. First, the Spirit God was foolish. They were enemies right now, yet, the other party wanted an alliance? Did he expect Christoper to stop the alliance and help them?

The second thought was even more extreme. Did Alex plan to force them to agree to this alliance? That would be the most ridiculous thought at this point.

They knew the fact that their lives would be in danger if they entered Eulja. However, Christoper had convinced them to follow him without fear because the consequences of killing them here were too big for Eulja to handle.

Christoper's reputation was more troublesome than The God of Destruction. Due to his good deeds, many would hate Eulja if they couldn't even ensure someone's safety during a negotiation.

Ultimately, Eulja would be scrutinized as no one would trust them anymore as their ally.

This was when the documents showed their true prowess.

Christoper seemed to have changed his thoughts after reading the whole document.

"If what you have shown me is the truth, I will become your ally." Christoper shook all his entourages with this ridiculous remark.

"Father!" The Saintess was the first to shout before the others began questioning his decision.

Christoper facepalmed as he let out a long sigh. "I understand why I couldn't say anything. This is truly too important. Even my people will be endangered at this point."

"!!!" His people obviously had no idea about this and looked at Christopher as if he got possessed by something.

The Saintess clenched her teeth and slammed the table. "What have you done to my father?!"

"You're annoying." Alex sighed and ignored her as he asked another question to the Holy God. "In what condition will you become our ally?"

The Holy God contemplated for one minute. "I do have several requests. First, I would like to ask you to abandon the idea of killing everyone, especially innocent people."

"That's impossible. I kill to protect, no one can change my mind." Alex shook his head with a firm tone.

Listening to his words, Christoper knew that it was impossible to convince Alex despite his previous confidence. He simply focused on another topic instead, albeit there was still a spice of convincing Alex in his words. "But if you don't kill them, you can ask them to help you."

"No. I do need help, but I don't want to spare anyone who tries to harm me. You have your own ideal, but don't force your own ideal on me, Holy God." Alex paused for a moment before asking a disturbing question. "If I kill your daughter right now, will you still ask me to abandon that thought and forgive me like that? What if I torture or rape her to make sure she dies the most gruesome death? And you watch everything with your own two eyes..."

"..." Christoper sighed. "I give up. It's really not possible to convince you."

"Anyway, the alliance will last for one hundred years. The terms and conditions are there."

"I know. Before that, can you answer two questions?"

"What is it?"

"Do you have confidence in beating the alliance? Even if I leave the alliance that I once built, some will remain and attack you."

"That depends whether you are going to fight alongside me or not. If you are, the chance is one hundred percent. Without you, I can still do it, but it will make the situation more complicated. At that time, I will need to kill more people."

Christoper sweatdropped. Alex was serious about this. With his reputation and heart, either case would result in his loss.

"You really put me in a hard situation. I don't mind helping you fight your true enemy, but I don't share the same opinion about dealing with the former alliance that I made. It just means that I'm helping you to massacre billions or even trillions of lives. If I don't help you, it means that I allow you to kill more. That's basically the same."

Alex shrugged. "That's the situation. To be honest, this is your fault for creating an alliance."

"I only created the alliance because of your aggressive behavior. Had you not killed the Array God, I wouldn't do something like this."

"His fate was sealed as soon as he planned to enslave my wife."

"..." The Holy God pinched the bridge of his nose, wondering what he should do to get out of this situation. "Still, to think that Your Majesty, the Spirit God, has been fighting the force that created the Period of Darkness..."

"!!!" That hint was enough for his retainers to understand what he had been hiding during their stay. The Saintess narrowed her eyes and asked. "Father... What do you mean by Period of Darkness? Isn't it already passed?"

"Even I couldn't believe it at first, but the situation has forced me to believe it. However, I do still need a few proofs to join your alliance."

"What is it?"

"I have a pair of special eyes since birth that allows me to see whether someone is telling the truth or not. From what I have seen so far, you haven't told a single lie. That's why I can believe what you say currently.

"However, the information you gave me said Lin Xingzhi met someone that could measure someone's lifespan... Is that correct?"

"Yes." Alex nodded with a serious expression.

"I would like to meet that person. Do you think it's possible?"

Alex pondered for a moment and looked at Sullivan. "Can you call Silvia here?"

"I understand." Sullivan nodded and left the room.

Meanwhile, the Holy God gave another condition. "And I would like to participate in this conquest of yours. Since you said that this so-called weapon is currently hiding on a certain planet and you are about to attack them, I am sure I can participate, right? I agree to this because I know that I will be fighting beasts."

"Yes. They have ruined almost everything in the past. I am sure you won't show any compassion to them, right?"

"If what you said in the documents was true, I would have no hesitation to help you kill the weapon. Of course, I would like to follow you first to see the proof. As soon as I deem it as the truth, I shall put my life on the line to kill it." Christoper nodded.

"Alright. You may go with me. I can ensure your life for the time being. I can show you my plan later...What do you think?"

"I have no qualm." Christoper thought for a moment. "Still, even though I haven't seen a single lie coming out of your mouth, I know that you are still hiding something. You can't expect me to fully trust you yet, right?"

"I understand."

"In that case, how about I have someone follow you just for this battle? Besides, with my daughter beside you, you will be safe."

"What?!" The Saintess widened her eyes, never expecting such a word to come out of his mouth.

However, Alex rejected it without hesitation. "No. That's a final decision."

"May I know the reason?"

"She is annoying. If you were to ask someone, it would be better to choose..." Alex looked at the people behind him before his eyes stuck on a bald man. "Him!"

All of them turned around, seeing a bald man with a white robe. He had a stick behind his back and had a gentle expression.

"I don't mean to be rude, but... He looks like a muscle brain, so I'm sure he won't talk too much or annoy me like your daughter. Besides, he seems to have enough capability to report everything from word to word without lying. If I take a look at your people, they all seem to be capable of lying in their report. That's what I don't want to see."

Christoper thought for a moment and nodded. "I understand your reasoning. It seems he is really the best one."

The Saintess couldn't understand why her father entrusted him with this task because of his stupidity. In fact, Alex's assessment was accurate.

"So, you don't mind having someone from my side following you?"

"If that's the only condition." Alex nodded in agreement.

The bald man felt embarrassed as he spoke. "Ehm, should I feel honored or insulted? Well, I am known as Mad Priest, Besta. If His Holiness ordered me to, I would love to take this opportunity."

The Holy God agreed to this proposal. "Besta will follow you during this battle. For now, I shall agree to the short term alliance and will make another promise after seeing the result. What do you think?"

"We have a deal."

After that, Sullivan opened the door as Silvia entered the room.
