Chapter 1022: Promise

Ten months later, the fox behind Alex soared to the sky, creating a giant fireball. The heat was even more powerful than that of the sun, turning the ground around the basic into lava.

Suddenly, the fireball exploded, creating a huge large fire pillar that pierced the sky.

Alex's body bathed in this powerful fire pillar. The fire seemed to be alive as they slowly marched toward Alex's head, creating a symbol of a small fire on his forehead.

The fire dimmed down after creating that symbol and Alex opened his eyes.

Lien and Ragi watched this before their eyes and felt pressured. Even the crystal that had been keeping them from being suppressed slowly lost its effect in front of the symbol in Alex's head.

Alex felt the change and rose from the ground. He looked at his hand before checking his body.

It took time to learn the secret behind this power, but Alex managed to activate the fire symbol on his forehead.

The fox appeared again, but to his surprise, the fox had a pair of wings that looked like a phoenix's wing.

Before observing the change that the fox had, the symbol shone brighter. The fire that made the fox slowly shrank and went toward Alex's body.

This transformation looked a bit weird since Alex now had fox ears, phoenix wings, and a fox tail.

He raised his hand at the chest level and summoned a fire there. Unknowingly, the fire turned into a kind of glove, telling that it was ready to be launched.

To test his might, he waved his hand to the side, and a torrential fire flew out of his hand, turning into a few kilometers wide and a hundred-kilometers long wasteland. Even the magma couldn't withstand the heat of his flame.

"..." The two snakes were dumbfounded. They had been taken advantage of Alex's cultivation and advanced one rank respectively. However, they never expected that Alex had this kind of power. In fact, they needed to surround themselves with Divine Energy to prevent Alex from suppressing them.

'Brother...This is bad, isn't it?' Lien gulped down and asked, but her brother didn't say anything. He kept observing Alex's every movement until he raised his vision.

Curious about what Alex tried to see, he found a small fireball remained on this planet. It slowly descended as if it wanted to meet Alex.

Alex narrowed his eyes after recognizing the fireball with his Spirit Eyes. "You are...The Fire God, Phitrus."

"Correct." The fireball suddenly let out a sound, startling the two snakes. "I want to talk about many things, but I think there are people who can explain it better than me. So, I will keep it brief. What you just mustered was a small portion of the true Fire Authority. You need to become a God King to fully master it. Just like how you can cut a small world, I can burn it down or even melt it with this fire. In other words, it can burn everything. And one last thing you need to know is to seek the ten God Beasts that I have left behind. You will surely need their help in the future."

"..." Alex narrowed his eyes. "Why are you doing this?"

"It's sympathy. You have put a huge boulder on your shoulders that no one wants or carries. That's why I can only help you through this as your former mentor." The fireball paused for a moment. "The rest can be explained by them."

Alex turned around, staring at the two snakes.

"You two must be Rain's and Miar's kids. You look like them. How are they and the rest?"

Ragi bowed to the fireball. "I am Ragi, and the one beside me is Lien, my sister. We bow down to the Fire God. To answer the Fire God, my parents are in good condition while the rest are hiding according to the promise and increase their strength. All of them have become a Rank 2 God."

"That's good. Those children looked cute when I first met them, and now, they already have children. Whether it's fortunate or unfortunate, there might be a time where all of your strength is needed. Please explain to him what happened and if you don't know about it, you can bring him to your father. He will understand."

"I shall obey." Ragi bowed again.

"Then, it's time for me to go and reincarnate somewhere else. Maybe this time, I will have an adventure of another universe. Haha..." The fireball laughed out loud and looked at Alex again as he gradually disappeared. "You have a lot of stuff, kid. And tell Lin Xingzhi, make sure she doesn't use her Element to force you to fight for eternity. The bed surely can't hold. Hahahahaha!"

[Wha—]

Lin Xingzhi never expected that Phitrus would say that. Even Alex had a surprised expression. However, Phitrus already disappeared, so she couldn't have him accountable.

[I am going to kill that old man!]

"He is already dead..."

[I am going to kill his ghost!]

"He might have already reincarnated."

[I...I can trap him inside the Time Box and seal him for eternity.]

"So, what's the deal for you to go such a length? Hmm, don't tell me are you planning for it?"

[You know that God Rank Experts have a hard time having a child? Their seed is too strong and can't do the next process?]

"So, you are doing that for this? Well, we have all the time in the world, so isn't it fine to take our time..."

[...]

Alex sighed. "Anyway, I have another problem to deal with."

He turned around to see the two snakes with a calm expression.

Suddenly, Ragi moved closer and bowed his head to Alex. He used his tail to grab Lien's head and made her bow too.

"We apologize for our rudeness, O' Great Spirit God, Alexander Sirius."

"I don't mind." Alex thought it was a pain to correct them, so he chose to continue the conversation in that kind of setting. Besides, their parents would be the problem, so he could just fix his status with their parents.

"So, what kind of thing are we going to talk about?" Alex asked.

"I have learned most of the issues from my parents so that I can answer most of your questions. However, let me explain why the ten Fire God Beasts are still alive to this day."

"Sure."

"It's the latent ability of the Fire Authority. You can use the flame to burn the contract that bound my parents and the other eight. After all, the link between this universe and our body is inside us. To break it, of course, you need to pay something.

"That's why the Fire God died in the first place when fighting against those people from Earth. He was already weakened before the battle after burning the contracts. Before leaving, we promised him to stay alive because he believed there would be someone in the future who could gather us again. And that our power is needed.

"After that, we don't need to worry anymore and can live freely. And that person is you. It seems that once again, this universe has started to become unstable. That's why when you first showed your fire, I thought you are the one to fix the problem."

Alex closed his eyes, hearing their explanation. He sighed. "I don't have any assurance, but I truly do my best for that."

"Yes. The promise is to help you until you have enough power. Hence, my father allowed me...No, us, to go anywhere we wanted. Because of our nature, we always stayed in a world like this to strengthen ourselves, and there is a possibility that the aforementioned person will appear. To that end, I can't promise anything before mentioning your name to my father."

"So, what are you planning to do now?"

"I would like to return to my father. After that, I shall come back to you to let you know about the decision." Ragi nodded. "Of course, Lien can follow you for the time being. Although she is a bit unruly, her fighting prowess alone can rival me. And you can whip her ass or something if she doesn't want to follow you."

"What?! No, I don't want to!" Lien glared at him.

"Then, you go to father in my stead. I shall accompany Sir Alexander." Ragi nodded as if he had predicted that Lien would reject it. He patted her head with his tail and said, "Remember. Don't lie about this, alright? I am not sure what will Father and Mother do if they know you lie about this. That's how important this matter is..."

"Wha—" Lien was bewildered by his action. She contemplated the matter for a moment and nodded. "I understand."

"Now go. I shall handle everything here." Ragi smiled and patted her head again.

She glared at Alex, who was the cause of all this and snorted before flying away.

"I apologize for her behavior. She is not a bad girl, just a bit playful."

"It's fine. Besides, isn't it like what you want?"

"Ahaha, it seems I can't hide anything from you, Sir."

"So, what is your real intention for following me?"

"I simply seek strength. After listening to my parents, I know that the person I follow will bless me with strength. To protect my own useless but cute sister, I will do everything. However, I can't go to the extent of the contract. I am sorry."

"It's fine. Universe Oath will do. How about it?"

"Sure." Ragi nodded. "With Heaven and Earth as my witness, I, Ragi, promise that I will follow Alexander Sirius and won't do anything that will be detrimental to him until the promised day arrives."

Alex also made his oath. "With Heaven and Earth as my witness, I, Alexander Sirius, promise that I will help Ragi to get stronger while he follows me."

Alex and Ragi exchanged looks and nodded at each other.

"I will handle the promise that my sister made too and help the others to migrate to another place. But I won't force them to move if they don't want to."

"Yes. The Fire Energy has become so thin."

"Though they are not really far from here since they come around this place since your technique concentrates the energy here." Ragi smiled before releasing Divine Energy. He enhanced his voice with energy so everyone could hear. "Those of you who wish to relocate to another planet may step forward!"

With that single order, many monsters gradually made their appearance even though they looked hesitant. From golems, minotaurs, and so on.

There were a total of five hundred monsters that seemed to want to relocate.

Zark suddenly appeared beside him as if he had seen this.

"Thank you for your hard work. You have been watching me this whole time." Alex smiled.

"No, no. When I was doing this, all my jobs were completed by others, so I don't mind. It's a good deal for me." Zark shrugged.

"Ahaha, did Lin Xingzhi force you to work?"

[I am not! It's Korzan.]

"Haha... Must be tiring, huh."

"Well, I have more than two-thirds to cultivate, so I can't really say it's tiring." Zark shrugged. "Besides, outer space is relaxing. You will hardly hear a sound unless the Spiritual Energy concentrates and sound can travel there."

Alex nodded. "In any case, can you help me teleport all these guys to that world?"

"Absolutely. Please leave it to me." Zark nodded before looking at the snake. "You don't need to tag along."

Since Zark said it himself, Ragi acknowledged and decided to stay with Alex. The goal was simple. Someone needed to protect him.

"Wait a minute." Alex stopped him and asked Ragi. "Can you do something about your size?"

Ragi nodded and gradually shrank himself to a small snake that was enough to circle his hand. If needed, he could even hide underneath his shirt.

"Well, I have a place to go, and that's a bit secretive, so I need to go alone." Alex smiled. "In any case, I am looking forward to working with you, Ragi."

"Yes, Sir Alex."

Alex then gave a "go" sign to Zark.

Zark then clapped his hands, and a giant Teleportation Array appeared, reaching even the furthest monsters in sight. Only those who agreed to be relocated disappeared along with Zark.

As for Alex, he created a Teleportation Array for himself and left the world.
