Chapter 2165: Demonstration

Sam and Dove were surprised.

The Dean just warned them not to act rash inn front of this guy. However, the Dean himself acted like that. And those words...

Bloody Chariot however didn't blow his top off. He just smiled and said.

"It seems like you are still holding the grudge from that night. Good to know that your life is smooth enough to do that."

Wharton didn't reply and just turned his head to the side while cross his arms. He is acting like a child throwing a tantrum.

By now even the Elders from the Norse, including Gungnir were a bit stupefied by the way Wharton acted. They knew about Wharton's reputation. That old man is flaky as hell. However, even from him, they expected a reserved behavior when it concerns a person like Bloody Chariot.

And from the words of Bloody Chariot, it seems like they share some history.

Bloody Chariot ignored him for the moment and turned to Sam.

"You must be the freshmen champion, Sam. Nice to meet you."

Bloody Chariot extended his hand. His voice was formal and polite with no hint of superiority or arrogance.

"Nice to meet you too."

Sam shook his hand and both of them took a seat followed by the rest.

"I heard that you have something to talk to me about some case investigation. May I know how can I help you?"

Sam asked directly.

Bloody Chariot took out a video recording. It is the video of the four battles of the students in the Zeus Academy that took place a few minutes ago.

Sam looked at the videos and asked.

"Why am I looking at these?"

"Sam, I heard that you are proficient in multiple elements. I need you to do something for me."

Bloody Chariot gestured the Elders and they called someone. A Second grade student who is at the Peak of the Divine Plane Initiation came inside. He is also part of the Zeus Academy.

"With your master, can you try and imitate these battle techniques in a fight against him."

"May I ask, why I should do that?" Sam asked.

"It will help us with the investigation of four murders that took place last night in the Norse Academy."

"So? Why should I help with that investigation? It is not like I am a student of the Norse Academy. I don't have any responsibility on my part to help with such an investigation."

"Of course, that is true. You don't have. But please consider this as a request from the Zeus Academy to the Gambler Academy. If you want, we can even discuss a price for it."

Bloody Chariot replied. All this while, the smile on his face was consistent without even a single flinch.

"I am not really keen on doing more business with the Zeus Academy. You guys still owe us a lot for the ransom exchange. Until now only half the payments are done and we are still waiting on the remaining half.

We are contemplating if we should start charging interest.

So, right now the credibility of the Zeus Academy and its people is not very high. Particularly with the Gambler Academy."

Bloody Chariot just chuckled at this while the rest of the people in the room took deep breaths. That was such a sharp statement.

"I did hear about it. We are currently going through an Academy war. I understand that. However, for this, I will pay from my own pocket. You can be assured of that."

"Like hell, you will pay. You lying bastard. Sam, don't trust this guy at all."

All of a sudden Wharton who was in the middle of his haughty tantrum turned around to scream."

Sam raised an eyebrow and looked at the old man.

Bloody Chariot looked at Wharton and said with a smile.

"Come on, Wharton. You can't bad mouth me in front of juniors. You are giving me a bad reputation."

"Bad reputation, my ass. You don't have enough bad reputation."

"What is all this about, Wharton? It can't be about that day."

"You bet your ass, it is about that day."

Wharton screamed as he placed his face close to Bloody Chariot's.

Dove and Sam are looking at both of them and exchanged a glance. For some reason, they have a bad feeling about this whole. A bad feeling that this might just end up... a bit silly?

Wharton looked at the two of them while still pointing at Bloody Chariot.

"Can you believe this guy? After all that he did, he has the gall to say that it doesn't have anything to do with that day."

As the two students looked at him in askance, Wharton continued.

"He owes me money."

Sam almost wanted to palm his own face and Dove actually did it.

"How much?" She asked.

Wharton suddenly became less talkative. He paused for a moment and said.

"Does it matter how much?"

"Yes, it does." Dove spoke through gritted teeth and looked at Bloody Chariot.

"Ten spirit Stones."

*BAM* *CRASH*

One of the elder was so shocked that his energy riled up and broke the damn chair he was sitting in.

Sam and Dove covered their faces with their palms. The second hand embarrassment is unreal.

"You see, it is silly." Bloody Chariot said from the side.

"Of course it is not. As I said, it is not about the matter of how much, it is a matter of principal. You lost a bet and you need to pay up."

"IT is just ten spirit stones. And it was a silly bet."

"There is no such thing as a Silly bet."

Dove looked at Sam who sighed.

"I guess, I could trust the words of a grand elder, even though the Zeus Academy is not that trustworthy at the moment. Let's get this over with."

The opponent was called and Sam started the fight right there and then.

The opponent is of higher strength and Sam couldn't really defeat him if he didn't use all of the tricks. But this is just a demonstration and Sam started imitating the tricks of the four suspects.

In the process, one would imagine that Sam wouldn't imitate it properly. After all, it could just implicate him directly. Even if he could, he shouldn't imitate those skills. However, to everyone's surprise, Sam just went ahead and imitated the tricks to tee.

In fact, his movements were so efficient that they felt like they belonged to him to begin with. It felt like these four suspects were imitating Sam instead of the other way around.

As they watched him, the elders from the Norse Academies, started believing Bloody Chariot's words more and more.

Sam finished the battle and took his seat. He barely warmed up and sweat started trickling down his forehead, however he still looked pretty energetic.

"You did a great job." Bloody Chariot opened up with a compliment. Sam just nodded and asked.

"So, if this is over, I would like you to give me my payment and we can all go on our own ways."

"No, you can't do that. You are now suspected of murdering four youths of the Norse region."

Gungnir immediately interrupted. However, Sam didn't even acknowledge his words. He just looked at Bloody Chariot and said.

"I would take a hundred thousand gold coins. Right now, there is a huge scarcity for them. I could use more in my reserves."

"You..."

Gungnir was about to mouth off once again and Sam said.

"What is your problem, sir? I thought this was a deal between me and Grand Elder Bloody chariot. Why are you interfering in the business when you should not?"

"You..."

"Enough, Sir Gungnir. Sam is right. Please do not interrupt."

Bloody Chariot spoke and took out the coins. He passed them to Sam before saying.

"You do understand why we are suspecting you, right?"

"No, I don't. Just because I have the ability to imitate these measly skills, doesn't mean, I will automatically become the suspect."

"Then...." Gungnir was about to speak, when Bloody chariot looked at him coldly.

"Elder Gungnir, just because someone has ability to do something, doesn't mean that they had done it. And I don't believe I have to prove myself just because some old men decided that I am a suspect.

I am neither under your people's authority, nor am I obligated to do your bidding.

If it comes to this, then I will file a complaint against all of you saying that I suspect you for the deaths of every single student in the past ten years. After all, you have the ability to kill all of those students.

So, you can lead me by the example, by proving yourself that you didn't do all those murders."

His words stumped everyone. That was such an unreasonable thing to say, at least in their opinion.

When Gungnir was about to say something, the city guard captain got a call from his subordinate.

The news he delivered made everyone stumped once again.
