Chapter 2148: Sour Meeting

2148 Sour Meeting

Christos didn't understand why Icarus is doing all these.

All he felt was that Icarus is acting with a Holier than thou attitude. That is all. He didn't understand the morality behind that decision. In his opinion, it was just pure hypocrisy on Icarus' part. He believed that with enough benefits anyone can do anything, no matter how immoral it is for the others.

"Sure, you can do what you want. But leave the Dean alone. Withdraw the case." Finally Christos spoke why he actually came here for.

"And why would I do that?"

"The Zeus Academy is already on the verge of collapse. Since you said you are doing this for the good of the academy, you cannot just allow the academy to be trampled on. The Gambler Academy is expanding its reach way too much.

Zeus Academy is facing severe pressure from the families and forces behind the students that are kidnapped.

Absence of Dean is making them act way too overboard."

Icarus looked at him with a puzzled expression and asked.

"And what does this have anything to do with me?"

Christos gritted his teeth and said.

"I am asking for a truce. I am in a desperate situation and that is what prompted me to send the seniors to you. If you push me anymore, I would have to take even worse measures.

Take a backstep for a while. Once the issue with the flaming skulls and the Gambler academy are settled, then we can lock horns as much as you want."

"No thanks. I like the current state a lot better. I believe pressuring Zeus Academy in this time is the perfect way to teach them a proper lesson. Otherwise, there is no point to my convictions."

Christos felt like he is trying to push a mountain. It is not budging.

"Please, I will pay you appropriately for it."

Icarus raised an eyebrow and asked.

"Really? How?"

"Whatever you want. Resources, Resource points, territory, slaves, power, authority. I can even get you instated as an instructor in the Zeus Academy if you want.

After all, since you are sincere about the change in the Zeus Academy, you can do much more from inside. I will even help you deal with whomever you want."

Icarus didn't show any change of expression.

Christos was losing it. He had an urge to scream out loud and tell him to spit out what he wanted. But he controlled the urge and said.

"Just tell me what you want."

"You will not be able to give me what I want, Christos. Not in this lifetime and the next. You cannot afford to buy my compliance."

"Just tell me. As long as I can do it, I will do it. Please."

"Alright." Icarus took out a paper and passed it to Christos. Christos looked at it. The more he read, the paler his face got.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" He screamed hysterically.

Icarus still had a faint smile on his face as he said.

"I already told you. You cannot afford me."

"I thought, I could find a middle ground with you Icarus. But I understood, you have no intention of it. You want to be destroyed. You are craving for destruction and the way you are acting, it is only a matter of time.

I feel like that time is not even that far away."

Christos turned around and walked towards the door. "Let's see Christos. Maybe my time might end. But before it does, I am going to see the reformation of this Academy."

Christos paused, but he walked out. He went into one of the simulation rooms and activated a consultation with Joker's virtual projection. He took a deep breath and spoke.

"I don't know why you appointed that idiot Icarus here. But he is going to bring a great calamity to you.

I want him to back off from the Dean's case and if he doesn't do it. I am going to take action. That is my personal grudge with Icarus. I also believe he might be the reason we are unable to get in touch with you.

We need to discuss the contract once again.

So, I hope you can send me an invite soon. Otherwise, Hub might suffer as collateral damage in my fight with Icarus."

Christos walked out after giving out this half-assed threat. The Joker's projection had a puzzled and confused expression on its face.

It wasn't Sam that came as the projection. It was the spirit of the formation. And in its thuoghts, Sam or the Joker is an almighty being. So, for someone to threaten him... it appeared childish, immature and incomprehensible to it.

Christos walked out of the Hub and started moving towards the Zeus Academy. He didn't fly away and he didn't use a beast to go. Instead, he walked slowly through the streets. He wanted to cool his mind off.

After some time, he hesitated a bit before taking out a special communication token.

"This is Christos, I am activating the Shadow Cavalry in my name. Reach the Academy realm's Olympian region by this evening. Wait for me in the woods behind the city. I will give you your target."

At the same time, in a realm farther away from the Academy realm, Christos's family the Vlachous family's main estate.

Within the family, inside the darkroom where no light reaches, A pair of eyes appeared out of thin air. Only if someone clearly observes with all their senses would they know that those eyes were always there. They just were always there. They were just closed.

Not just that pair of eyes. Several pairs of eyes opened up following the first one.

At this moment, an old man with a hunched back opened a door leading to that room. Instead of the light entering the room, the darkness inside crept out casting a huge shadow on the old man.

"Shadow cavalry. Young master Christos used his credits to summon you for a task. You shall go to the Olympian region of the Academy realm by evening and accomplish the task. If you cannot, your existence shall be erased. With no place in this world or living or in the underworld controlled by Hades."

He left those words and turned around.

*GRUNT*

A grunting noise came from within the room, acknowledging his words.

After the old man left. Several black shadows flew out one after another. Their aura reeked of death and as they passed through the corridor, the surrounding light was being devoured. They left the building and entered the outside world.

The grass and plants died as they passed by. The trees decayed, the small life forms exhausted their lifespan. The people within the estate felt a chill run down their spine and several discussions were happening in various corners of that estate.

The shadows appeared near a space gate and jumped into it disappearing from there.

Christos knew it will take some time for the forces he called for. He just arranged the remaining things. He is not short of any tasks.

First one is collecting the coins. Even though he said that their backup plan is dead because of the locked exchange center. Christos kept a backup plan for this backup plan and that is hoarding some more coins.

Along with the contribution from the league families, it is enough to pay off the payment for the week for everyone. There will be some left, but it would only suffice for a couple of people the next week.

But he is not worried. Because, with the arrival of the Shadow Cavalry, he believed that this will be able to buy some time for himself. And if worse comes to worse, the Hub's problems will disappear along with the Hub itself.

Meanwhile, Sam doesn't know that a pawn in the chess board he laid out is thinking of burning the whole board.

Even if he knew, he would only chuckle. Because, no one managed to provoke the Hub. He is very tempted to edge someone to do it, because he wanted to see the results of all the effort he put into it.

If someone wants to do it by themselves. Then he would only welcome with open arms.

And at the moment, he is doing something else with open arms.

In the vast grassy plans, several Yena are running with mindless rage and Sam is in front of them, running backwards while facing them with a huge grin on his face. He looked like a crazy psycho, because his body is currently bathed in blood.

And it is not ordinary, it is his own blood with all the goodness of the Mythical beasts combined together. These Yena are getting crazy over it. The whole pack is running towards him.

The vast difference between their cultivation level of course, gave them the confidence that they could catch up to Sam.

But just when the leader of the pack was in a pouncing distance...

Sam who was within a few feet disappeared and appeared a few hundreds of meters away. It could still smell him. The most frustrating thing for the beast was this happened a bunch of times, but the temptation of the blood and its mutated hunger is not letting it move on from Sam.
